It is a great shame that this show clashes with the Le Mans race. So many Hoodies trek off to France to watch the racing which leaves numbers short for the Newark Show.
The weather was so hot and with very little shade proved quite uncomfortable for many. However, it seems that those who did attend had a good time as always. John drove up, following Andy and Connor, on Saturday afternoon, camped overnight and came home after lunch on Sunday. I don't do the camping thing so stayed home to look after the dog. I am still sulking having sold my Exmo so might not have been good company around lots of Robin Hoods!!!
Robin Hood won the trophy for the best turn out of cars, naturally.
John felt that generally the show was enjoyable, the new hall was good but there was definite a lack of manufacturers displaying their cars. It was good to catch up with some other RHOCaR members, but as I said earlier, many were missing since the show clashed with Le Mans. Thanks to Steve Altwasser for the caramalised bananas, quite a hit with everyone. The camping facilities are adequate, unlike Donnington where they are non-existant!
